What happens during the consultation?

Use the 15-minute conversation to introduce your situation, explain your main priorities and ask about timing. The attorney can discuss the next steps and whether your matter fits the package.

You do not need to arrive with every clause already decided. A short list of goals and questions is a useful starting point. Mention any existing draft, business interest, property outside California or upcoming travel that could affect the schedule.

Prepare a few details

• Your planned wedding date and relevant state or country.
• The topics you want the agreement to address.
• Whether your partner already has a separate attorney.
• Any draft agreement or prior discussion that the attorney should know about.
• Your questions about the fee and included scope.

After the conversation

1. Confirm representation. The firm reviews conflicts, jurisdiction, availability and case fit. Your written engagement agreement sets out the scope.
2. Complete the questionnaire. Share your financial information and preferences, including additional requests.
3. Receive your attorney’s draft. Your attorney prepares the agreement and explains the next review and signing steps.

The consultation is included in the $950 package for one client. Ask the team about terms before scheduling a stand-alone consultation or work outside the package.
